A surprise date with Tim

We began our adventure by driving to the canoe launch area next to WE Energies in Port Washington. From there, we walked around the bird sanctuary. (The new bridge was closed off because they were doing more construction).

If only he was smiling!

Walking along the beach

Sandy feet

A hide out that we found

Pretty nifty set-up

We walked 3 miles down the beach all the way to where the Lion's Den Gorge trail comes out. Then we enjoyed a picnic lunch.

You can barely see WE Energies from here

Picnic on the beach

Sparkling lemonade -- didn't know they made that!

My treasures -- a bone (human? or animal? lol) and a piece of pottery (probably from an old planter)

TURKEY!! Can you see him? I guess he was enjoying a day at the beach too!

7 years of Caleb!

I can't believe my "baby" is 7 years old today. It seems like just yesterday that he was a baby in my arms. Now he's grown into a loving young boy. He'll be in 2nd grade this fall!

We still have our talks while I'm tucking him into bed at night. That's when I truly discover who Caleb is. I love those precious moments with him and I love our mother/son dates that we have (even when it's coloring pictures without Sonya tagging along).

Caleb, you're a really special boy and I can't wait to see how much more you grow in the years to come.
